Starting medical school can be an overwhelming experience, but for me, it was made a little bit easier thanks to my Mum's thoughtful gift. She gave me a littman stethoscope that was not only practical, but also deeply personal. Engraved on the chestpiece was Ecclesiastes 3:11, a passage that spoke to my heart and reminded me of the beauty and purpose in all things.
As I reflect on my journey in medicine, I realize that the gift my Mum gave me has become one of the most meaningful items in my life. Not only did it help me in my studies, but it also served as a constant source of inspiration and encouragement. And now, I have the opportunity to pass on that same feeling to another aspiring or practicing medic.
